Improving the post-crash response in London
crash...investigation...prosecution...compensation...trauma care...prevention
Held on 22 September, 2010 this was a one-day conference looking at many of the recent developments in the investigation and prosecution of casualty collisions and the compensation and trauma care of casualites. Over 25,000 casualty collisions (fatal and injury) are reported to the police in London each year. A thorough investigation is essential for determining criminal guilt or innocence, fair compensation for the victims, and for learning how danger on our roads can be reduced. Prompt trauma care is also important for improving people’s chance of recovery.
The key-note speaker was former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone. During the day we heard from speakers representing the Metropolitan Police Service, Southwark Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators, TRL, TfL, London Trauma Office and specialist personal injury lawyers.
